At a time when doctors around the nation are staging protest in solidarity with their counterparts in West Bengal, a case of assault has come to fore from Lakhimpur in Assam.
A doctor on duty was assaulted at the North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. The miscreants attacked Dr Jayanta Dutta of the Sonology department inside the Ultrasound room.
Two miscreants forcibly entered the Ultrasound Room and made the doctor perform an ultrasound without providing a receipt.
When the doctor asked the duo to bring the receipt and wait for their turn, they turned furious and assaulted the former.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested one of the accused. The arrested person has been identified as Asadul Khan Saikia.
