Assault on cab driver in Shillong: 5 arrested from Ghy

SP East Khasi Hills, Sylvester Nongtnger confirmed the arrest, and informed that all five suspects were arrested from Guwahati with the help of the Assam Police

The Meghalaya Taxi Drivers Welfare Association has called off its strike after the Meghalaya Police arrested 5 persons for their alleged involvement in physically assaulting a local cab driver and his friend. The incident occured last evening at the Khyndailad (Police Bazaar) in Shillong.

SP East Khasi Hills, Sylvester Nongtnger confirmed the arrest, and informed that all five suspects were arrested from Guwahati with the help of the Assam Police. Worth mentioning that the arrests were made in less than 24 hours since the incident took place.
Both the taxi driver and his friend were injured in the attack and were admitted to the Shillong Civil Hospital.
