Assam’s pride Gamosa gets GI tag

A proud moment for Assam. Government of India granted Assam's pride, #Gamosa, the Geographical Indication (GI) Tag.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed joy and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for always giving a place of prestige to this integral symbol of Assamese glory.
Notably, the Gamocha is one of the unique identities of Assamese society. The handloom product is held in high esteem and is widely used in Assamese culture.
