Pride East Entertainments Pvt Limited, a media conglomerate headquartered in Guwahati, on Thursday, acquired Time8, a standalone digital news platform operating out of Guwahati.
“Since the need of the hour is digital media and OTT platforms, so after much deliberation, Pride East Entertainments Pvt Limited took over the news digital media Time8. With this, we hope to be able to deliver news and information at your fingertips, something that has been our motto,” said Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of Pride East Entertainments Private Limited.
“Time8 is a brand, and by taking over Time8, we hope to take things in the news industry to a level up,” said Syed Zarir Hussain, Vice President, Media, Pride East group.
“Since Time8 is now a part of Pride East Entertainments group, we hope people who have been showing their love and support to all digital media platforms under that brand will also do the same for Time8 as well and help us to be better with time,” said Wasbir Hussain, Editor-in-Chief, Northeast Live.
Pride East Entertainments CMD Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, Vice President-Media, Syed Zarir Hussain, Northeast Live Editor-in-Chief Wasbir Hussain, and Utpal Kanta, Founder-cum-Managing Editor of Time8 were present at the takeover event.
This is the first acquisition of Pride East Entertainments which already owns 24×7 satellite news channels like News Live, market leaders in the Assamese satellite TV news segment, and Northeast Live the only English and Hindi 24×7 satellite channel in Northeast India, entertainment channels, Rang and Ramdhenu.
Pride East Entertainments also owns the Assamese daily Niyomiya Barta and the lifestyle magazine Aaina Jibonor.
