The total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has crossed the 5,000-mark as 102 more have tested positive for coronavirus on Friday.
State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “102 new #COVID19+ cases detected.”
“Numbers in the graphic tell the story of tireless work of our doctors and paramedic staff. Over 61% of the total patients are back home. The remaining shall soon go back. Our testing continues,” Sarma added.
Earlier in the day, 218 more COVID-19 patients have been discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals. They have been discharged after being tested negative.
With this the number of discharged cases in the state have crossed the 3,000-mark on Friday, while the active cases stands at 1,928.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
