Assam on Friday night reported 195 more COVID-19 positive cases. The total number of coronavirus cases in the state has surged to 3,693.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma taking to Twitter informed, “Alert ~ 195 new #COVID19+ cases reported in Assam today.”

(Total cases 3693, Recovered 1584, Active cases 2098, Deaths 08)

A total of 263 positive cases were reported in the state on Friday. The number of active cases stands at 2,098.

Meanwhile, three doctors from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati have tested positive for COVID-19. The doctors were under mandatory quarantine at Hotel Taj Vivanta after rendering services in Covid ward.

“Three doctors have been found COVID-19 positive. They are Dr Aditya, Dr Rakesh and Dr Siranjeeb,” said GMCH Superintendent. “They are fine. We are observing them,” he added.

Earlier, Dr Lithikesh DS from GMCH and Dr Deepa Deka from Regional Dental College, Guwahati had tested positive for COVID-19. Both of them have recovered from the disease.
