One more person has tested positive in Assam’s Cachar district for COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the total tally of active cases in the state to 10. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 45.

According to reports, the person who tested positive originally hails from Kochgaon in Sonitpur district but had accidentally boarded the wrong bus that was to depart to Silchar.

Sources said, the man had arrived in Silchar from Ajmer along with other pilgrims who were stranded in Ajmer for quite sometime.

The Covid patient had reportedly developed symptoms during his journey as he was suffering from fever, cough and headache.

The individual was detected positive after he was screened in Silchar. However, 45 other co-passengers of the Covid patient were sent to home quarantine.

Soon after the individual was tested positive, 45 other individuals were brought back to institutional quarantine.
