Another major win in Assam’s war on drugs was seen when contraband worth more than Rs one crore was seized by BSF at Indo-Bangladesh Border. About 26,000 Yaba tablets were seized from a drug peddler by the Border Security Force during checking at Kaliganj in Karimganj district.
The tablets which cost approximately Rs 1 crore and 33 lakhs, were seized from a drug peddler identified as Marfuja Ahmed, who is a resident of Khudra Kandi. The BSF personnel intensified checking after having received input of drugs being brought inside Indian territory from Bangladesh. The arrested person has in the meantime been handed over to the police
Further intensifying the crusade on the illegal drugs trade in Assam, the state police nabbed a dreaded drug peddler and seized at least 75 grams of heroin from his possession.
The peddler was caught in a specific operation launched by the sleuths of Assam Police at Bhuragaon in Morigaon
