The Assam University professor accused of sexually harassing a female student has been put under suspension.

As per an order released by the University registrar, the accused Sudipto Sarkar has been put under suspension after the internal complaints committee has submitted its interim report and a prima facie case has been established against the accused.

It has also been made clear that Sarkar is not to leave the headquarter without prior permission of the authorities.

The students are also demanding that along with Sarkar, another faculty Nirakar Mallick be also booked for other sexual harassment cases.
