The security agencies in Assam arrested the serial killer responsible for the twin murders in running trains in the state just moments before he was about to board the Dibrugarh-Jhanjha express in New Tinsukia Railway station.
Security agencies have cracked the twin murder case in the state with the arrested Bikash Das confessing that he killed both the women.
Informing this, RPF Commandant BS Meena said the mobile phone and the rail ticket of the 21-year-old girl whose body was found in the toilet of Dibrugarh-Rangia express were recovered from Das’ possession along with the ornaments of the woman who was found brutally murdered aboard the Avadh Assam express at Mariani junction on Wednesday.
The case has been handed over to the Government Railway Police that had detained Das in the first place. Meena added that the co-accused is still on the run. Shockingly, Meena revealed that the both Das and the co-accused raped the women.
He also said that Das was planning to kill the third person today and was arrested when he was trying to board the Dibrugarh-Jhanjha express at Tinsukia Railway station. Das is a hardcore criminal and a habitual offender, the authorities revealed.
Das was arrested from New Tinsukia Railway station on the basis of footage derived from CCTV recordings in the station moments before he could board the Dibrugarh-Jhanjha express to commit another crime.
The mobile phone and the rail ticket of the 21-year-old girl whose body was found in the toilet of Dibrugarh-Rangia express were recovered from Das’ possession along with the ornaments of the woman who was found brutally murdered aboard the Avadh Assam express at Mariani junction on Wednesday.
It has also been learnt that Das and the co-accused raped the victims before killing them.
The twin murders had shocked the entire state of Assam. While a 21-year-old girl was found murdered in the toilet of Dibrugarh-Rangia express on Tuesday, another woman was found murdered in a similar fashion in the toilet of the Avadh Assam express.
