Three more people have been detained by police in connection to the terror trail in Assam following the arrest of Hizbul Mujahideen militant from Assam Qamer-Uz-Zaman.
The three youths have been identified as Riyazuddin from Kapiligaon and Baharuddin and Jaynaluddin from Jamunamukh. Among them, Jaynaluddin has been placed under arrest.
As per the police the arrested persons have had long links with Shah Nawaz Alam and Saidul Alam who have been found to be aides of Hizbul militant Qamer-Uz-Zaman.
Zaman’s brother Saiful Islam who was earlier detained by the police has also been placed under arrest.
Earlier, the Hojai district and sessions Court sent Saidul Alom and Omar Farooq to 14-day police custody.
Both Saidul Alom and Omar Farooq were arrested on Saturday by police for maintaining close links with Hizbul Mujahideen militant from Assam Qamer-Uz-Zaman.
Earlier, police got hold of some crucial evidence following a raid on Saidul Alom’s residence in Hojai which hinted that Kamruz Zaman along with his associates was planning to carry out a blast in Lumding.
Omar Farooq, who was arrested from Byrnihat had provided shelter to Zaman during his visit to Assam last month.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that his government will take all steps to ensure safety of the people of the state.
