Assam’s new star swimmer Shivangi Sharma added another Gold medal to her kitty on the last day of the Khelo India Youth Games.

Shivangi won her fifth Gold in 50 meter freestyle, women (Under-21) swimming event at the ongoing mega sporting spectacle. In total, Shivangi has bagged 7 medals with 5 Gold and 2 Silver medals in the games.

Shivangi previously won 4 Gold medals in (Under-21) 100 m, 200 m, 400 m and 800 m freestyle events and 2 silver medals in the team events at the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games 2020.

It may be mentioned that Shivangi won 5 Gold medals in individual events and 2 Silver in team events.

On the other hand, Assam ended their lawn bowl campaign on a high, adding two more Gold medals to its kitty.

Assam’s medal tally is placed 6th in the standings with 19 Gold, including 19 Silver medals and 26 Bronze medals, thereby bringing the state’s entire medal tally in this edition of the Khelo India Youth Games to a total of 64 medals.

The closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of the Khelo India Youth Games will be held at the Sarusajai Sports Complex in Guwahati on 22nd January.
