Assam Shocker: Group of youth chase, gherao a girl in broad daylight

First Published: 13th September, 2023 15:11 IST

A video from Assam's Hailakandi has gone viral where a girl in uniform was chased, gheraoed and teased in broad daylight by a group of boys

However, despite her repeated cries, not a single person who was present at the place of incident came forward to help her. What is even more shocking is that the entire incident was recorded on camera by one of the perpetrators and several passers-by including women can be seen in the video who simply looked on and ignored the victim’s pleas. Even though they could have rescued the girl, the passers-by stood as mute spectators ignoring the victim’s cry for help.
