Assam Rifles conducts mega medical camp, distributes medicines worth over Rs. 7 lakh in Kangpokpi

Assam Rifles continued to extend its helping hand in places of violence-hit Manipur. Today Assam Rifles organised one of the biggest medical camps at Kangpokpi district headquarters.

The entire Kangpokpi district has been extremely disturbed by the precarious law and order situation and ethnic violence.

Due to the adverse security situations caused by the ethnic violence, the locals were deprived of preventive and curative medical care for over three weeks and have been longing for requisite medical care and relief for a while.

During the mega medical camp held, the Assam Rifles provided succour to the residents of Kangpokpi district devoid of quality medical care due to ongoing ethnic clashes.

As many as 2,300 locals including women and children, aged persons, and Internally Displaced Persons benefitted from the medical camp.

A team of 12 doctors including various specialists like an Anaesthesiologist, Gynecologist, Paediatrician and medical specialist earnestly attended to the medical ailments and needs of the patients.

Medicines worth over Rs. 7 Lakhs were also distributed to locals in dire need of essential medicines.
