Assam reports first COVID-19 death; tally at 29

The 28th COVID-19 patient from Assam’s Hailakandi district, died at 1.55 AM on Friday. The virus infected patient, Faijul Haque Barbhuyan breathed his last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital

The 28th COVID-19 patient from Assam’s Hailakandi district, died at 1.55 AM on Friday.

The virus infected patient, Faijul Haque Barbhuyan breathed his last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).

This is the first COVID19 related death in the state.

He was admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday. Earlier, yesterday the patient’s health was stated to be critical and was shifted to the ICU of SMCH.

The 65-year old man also returned from Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.

The last rites will be performed according to the protocol of COVID19.
