Assam on Thursday received one lakh more doses of Covishield vaccines for all those above the age group of 45 years. With this the total vaccine stock in the State has gone up to 3,25,470.

Taking to Twitter, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed, “Pleased to share that we have received 1 lakh more doses of #Covishield from @SerumInstIndia for people above 45 years. Our total vaccines availability stands at 3,25,470.”

He further urged everyone to get themselves tested and appealed to maintain Covid appropriate behaviour.

Earlier yesterday, Sarma informed that the people working at the cremation ground in Guwahati will be administered Covid vaccines from today. This decision was made after the Health Minister visited the Ulubari cremation ground in the city and met the bereaved family members there.

As per data provided by the Health Minster on Wednesday, the state government has inoculated 27,85,279 beneficiaries against COVID-19 so far.
