Assam: Rape horror refuses to die; minor raped in Sonapur, woman raped in Baksa

In another heinous incident, a minor was allegedly raped in Sonapur on the outskirts of Guwahati. The accused duo Dhiren Rongpi and Jiten Rongpi abducted the victim from a Bihu function

In another heinous incident, a minor was allegedly raped in Sonapur on the outskirts of Guwahati.

The accused duo Dhiren Rongpi and Jiten Rongpi abducted the victim from a Bihu function venue and sexually abused the minor at a deserted place near the Notun Bazar Bhawan.

The minor was taken by the duo on the pretext of handing her over to the police as she was seen roaming alone in the place. The victim was later rescued by two locals who reported the matter to the police. The accused duo are currently in police custody.

On the other hand a woman was raped at Ananda bazar of Salbari in Baksa. The victim who is a married woman was raped by accused Rafiqul bhuyan, who is a resident of Kachugaon.

The victim who was found in a critical condition was immediately rushed to the Barpeta Medical college and hospital. Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused.
