Assam police seize heroin worth Rs 20 crore in Assam’s Kaliabor

The narcotics consignment was being smuggled from Nagaland in a Honda City vehicle to a secret location
In a big breakthrough, the Assam police seized 18.270 kg of suspected heroin worth Rs 20 crore in Jakhalabandha in Assam’s Kaliabor.
A team of police acting on a tip off led by Additional Superintendent of Police of Nagaon District Crime Branch Rupjyoti Kalita, along with Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Rupam Bordoloi and Jakhalabandha Police Station Incharge Pawan Kalita, acting on a tip off intercepted the vehicle near Jakhalabanda Bazaar and seized the contraband.
Reportedly, the narcotics consignment suspected to be heroin was being smuggled from Nagaland in a sedan to be taken a secret location. The suspected heroin was kept concealed inside a secret chamber of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested two individuals hailing from Guwahati, identified as Ranjit Shah and Aditya Kumar Shah in this connection.
