After the case of a custodial violence against a minor came to light from Nagaon, now a case of custodial violence against a youth in Barpeta has come to the fore. Reportedly, a youth identified as Krishna Pathak had been picked up by the police and had been detained at the police station for two days where he was allegedly tortured and assaulted mercilessly.

Reportedly, Krishna Pathak has sustained injuries from the alleged police torture which was committed by sub inspector Prakash Deka and a team of 15 police personnel.

Reportedly, Krishna was picked up by the police after he objected to them dumping some seized illegal liquor into a lake which also is a source of drinking water for locals.
