Assam Police arrested nine individuals involved in a notorious trafficking ring in Tinsukia's Guijan

In a major breakthrough against human trafficking, Assam Police arrested nine individuals involved in a notorious trafficking ring in Tinsukia’s Guijan.

The operation, led by police across multiple regions including Duliajan, Jonai, Majuli, Banderdewa, and Tinsukia, marked a significant success against such crime.

The suspected mastermind, Rijumoni Tai, was identified as orchestrating the network, which trafficked two minor girls aged 9 and 13, abducted from Guijan for a staggering sum of Rs 2 lakh.

The girls were abducted on their way home from school on December 26.

Notably, the two women pushed them inside a car and took them to an unknown place.

Later, the victims were rescued from Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar and Naharlagun.

Police have swiftly detained the suspects, while investigations are ongoing to uncover further links in the network.
