Celebrations for the Gunotsav 2022 have begun across Assam from today with an aim to revive the education sector that has been impacted heavily by COVID-19 and thereby contribute to the development of the students.
The programme will be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The mega programme will be held in 46 thousand educational institutions wherein a total of 43 lakh 50 thousand 224 students will participate.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Senior IAS, IPS, and IFS personnel, Ministers, MLAs, and Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam will visit schools as external evaluators to assess the performance of children and schools.
The latest edition of Gunotsav will be celebrated in three phases under the initiative of the Department of Education, Assam and Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission in all 33 districts of the state.
The next session of Gunotsav after today will be held on May 23 and June 1 respectively in 33 districts.
Notably, this will be the first Gunotsav post the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The goal of Gunotsav is to ensure quality elementary education with the improved learning outcome.
