The incident was reported from Bhuyanpatty locality in Hojai district on Thursday night

A 16-year-old minor girl, working as a domestic help, was allegedly physically assaulted by her employer’s son in Hojai, Assam.
The incident took place in Bhuyanpatty locality of Hojai on Thursday night. The minor girl was working as a maid in the house of a person named Zakir
Her family alleged that she was allegedly beaten by Zakir’s son Afzal for not reporting to her duties.
The victim’s 7-year-old younger sister, too, sustained injuries during the incident, they alleged.
“My daughter was employed as a domestic help in Zakir’s house for the past few months. But she stopped going to his house as his sons Afazal and Imran would pass dirty comments. Yesterday morning Afzal called my younger daughter to go to the shop but she refused. Angered at this, Afzal thrashed my daughter and my other kids too,” the victim’s mother said.
Both the girls were first admitted to Hojai FRU but were later shifted to Jorapukhuri Civil Hospital for further treatment.
An FIR has been lodged in this regard and Hojai Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
