Opposing the ‘Give and Take Policy’ on resolving the interstate border dispute between Assam and Meghalaya, Karbi Civil Bodies staged a protest in Mokoilum today, declaring that no part of Blocks 1 and 2 in West Karbi Anglong district will be handed over to Meghalaya.

Civil bodies including Autonomous State Demand Committee, Karbi Nimso Chingthur Asong and the Karbi Students Association stated that residents of West Karbi Anglong will not accept the ‘Give and Take Policy’ adopted by the Assam and Meghalaya governments.

As per reports, areas under dispute in West Karbi Anglong include Psier, Khatkhasla, Mokro, Samatan, Mokoilum, Umkhirmi, Wanpung, Khanduli, Tapat and Nongjirong.
