4 persons have been arrested in Assam for their links with radical rebel group Ansarullah Bangla Team.
As per inputs, the Assam Police made the breakthrough by arresting 2 persons in Tamulpur district, while 2 others were taken into custody by the police in Nalbari district.
Those arrested from Tamulpur have been identified as Sadeq Ali and Jakibul Ali. Meanwhile, the duo arrested from Nalbari district have been identified as Habel Ali and Jakibul Ali.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter and affirmed that his government is determined to root out Jihadi elements from the state.
Chief Minister Sarma lauded the Assam Police for it’s commendable job.
Those arrested were involved in luring youths to join Bangladesh base radical terror group Ansarullah Bangla Team, which is an affiliate of the Al Qaeda (Indian Sub-continent), the Assam Chief Minister informed.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned that the arrest of Sadeq Ali from Tamulpur is a significant achievement since he had been radicalising youth including Jakibul Ali for past 2 years. He was also associated with JMB & Neo-JMB.
