Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurates 40-bed ICU at SMCH

A 40-bed Intensive Care Unit was inaugurated by Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in Assam on Saturday. Inaugurating the ICU, Sarma announced that
A 40-bed Intensive Care Unit was inaugurated by Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in Assam on Saturday.
Inaugurating the ICU, Sarma announced that it would be upgraded to 100 beds by December 31 in 2020.
On the other hand, minister Sarma also laid the foundation stone of a 500-bed emergency hospital wing. The emergency wing will be built with Rs. 90 crore.
He also laid foundation stone of various other medical infrastructure worth Rs 44 crore.
“Another step taken towards upgrading medical facilities in Silchar~ Laid the foundation stone of a 500-bed emergency hospital wing worth Rs 90 cr & various other medical infrastructure worth Rs 44 cr at SMCH today. It shall further strengthen health care in the area,” Sarma stated in a tweet.
