Assam: Heroin worth Rs 3 cr seized, 3 women arrested

In a joint operation by the Naharkatia and Joypur police in Assam, a drug racket carrying heroin worth Rs 3 crores was busted in Joypur, Naharkatia.

Three women from Arunachal Pradesh were arrested during the raid.

The police acted on precise information and set up a checking party at the Naga Ghat rainforest gate. When the suspects, who were travelling by car to Arunachal Pradesh, were intercepted, the officers discovered a total of 364.43 grams of heroin.

According to sources, the heroin was initially brought from Dimapur to Duliajan by train. The three women, along with their driver, were taken into custody. Further investigations are underway.
