Assam Govt to install 2000 CCTV cameras across state soon

CM Sarma noted that the installation of the CCTV cameras will decrease the crime rate in the city, and the women will be able to stay outside till midnight

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed on Sunday that a total of 2,000 CCTV cameras will be installed across the city soon.

The CCTV cameras will be installed at various locations around the city.

CM Sarma noted that the installation of the CCTV cameras will decrease the crime rate in the city, and the women will be able to stay outside till midnight.

He added that the state government is in the final stage of tendering the scheme.

“The cabinet has already allocated Rs 250 crore for this scheme, and we are in the final stage of allotting the work,” CM Sarma added.

The CM also announced special arrangements for street lights as well.
