Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi visited the Dima Hasao district on Saturday and chaired a meeting with the CEM and Executive Members of the NC Hills Autonomous Council at the circuit house in Haflong. 

During the meeting, the Governor took stock of the progress of various departments under the administrative control of NCHAC.

Congratulating the team efforts of the executive body, the Governor said NCHAC’s commitment towards the welfare of the people is quite laudable and can be seen through their accomplishments of schemes and utilization of funds towards the exhaustive development of the region.

He also expressed that water and electricity facilities are the prime services that a household deserves. As a result, every household should have access to electricity and running water at all times. 

The Governor spoke highly about the tourism prospects of the district and also gave his vital suggestions for the upliftment of the tourism landscape of the only hill station in the state.

The Governor also shared a slew of meetings with the security agencies deployed in the region and different delegations representing social, sports, religious, and student organizations etc.
