Four militants belonging to the NSCN (Khaplang-Yung Aung) faction have been arrested by security forces in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Monday, August 9.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and Assam Rifles launched an operation at the Tinkopani reserve forest near Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border and apprehended the NSCN (K-YA) cadres.
The search operation lasted for almost two days. The arrested have been identified as Osa Gangsa, Pumla Pansa, Panglang Gangsa and Jangang Patadam.
Police have recovered assault rifles and other weapons from their possession – MQ 81 assault rifles, 294 rounds of live bullets, seven magazines, three mobile phones and other incriminating materials.
The militants have been taken into custody and a case has been lodged in this regard.
