In a tragic incident, four people, including two minors drowned after a country boat carrying 13 people capsized in the Brahmaputra river in Assam’s Jorhat district.
The incident took place on Tuesday when few members of a picnic party went for a river cruise on a country boat. Locals rescued some people, of whom two are undergoing treatment in hospital.
An NDRF team arrived at the spot to carry out search operations. However, search operations were suspended yesterday, due to poor visibility conditions.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the four victims have been recovered near Baghmora picnic spot on Wednesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Paban Rai (30), Rajiya Tigula (24), Sahil Chauhan (15) and Sufiyan Chauhan (9).
