Assam: Ferry with 200 passengers on-board gets stuck in Brahmaputra river in Majuli

As per inputs, the ship named MV Shapteshwari was travelling from Nimatighat in Jorhat to Kamalabari in Majuli

A ferry carrying 200 passengers along with many vehicles and motorcycles got stuck in the middle of the Brahmaputra River in Majuli, Assam today morning.

As per inputs, the ship named MV Shapteshwari was travelling from Nimatighat in Jorhat to Kamalabari in Majuli.

The ferry had departed from Nimatighat at 8.30 am, and it got stuck in the waters mid-way.

Till now, the ferry has been stranded in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. It is still not known why the ferry got stuck.

More details are awaited.
