The United Peoples’ Party Liberal (UPPL) party-led by Bodoland Territorial Council chief Pramod Boro bagged 6 seats in the Assam Assembly elections. The party contested in eight constituencies.
Assam has a 126-member assembly and 64 seats are needed for a simple majority.
The Counting of votes began at 8 AM on Sunday morning. Assam voted in three phases on March 27, April 1 and April 6.
Here is the list of winners:
- Barama – Bhupen Baro (UPPL)
- Kokrajhar East – Lawrence Islary (UPPL)
- Chapaguri – Urkhao Gwra Brahma (UPPL)
- Sidli – Jayanta Basumatary (UPPL)
- Tamulpur – Leho Ram Boro (UPPL)
- Udalguri – Gobinda Chandra Basumatari (UPPL)
