Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia has sent out a stern warning to perpetrators of moral policing.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Saikia said all accused in the recent cases of moral policing in the state have been arrested and warned people not to take law in their own hands.
The Assam DGP added that swift action by the police have led to the culprits being booked even as he urged all stakeholders to come together to prevent the recurrence of such public trials.
The DGP has also urged people and media to stop portraying too much of violence in the day to day activities. He also made a significant comment saying speedy justice can prevent people from taking law in their own hands.
