Assam’s celebrated fashion designer, Sanjukta Dutta continues to dazzle on the international stage. She has made another significant mark in the global fashion industry this time with her exquisitely gorgeous collection showcased on nothing less than the Cannes Red Carpet.
International models Ingrida Ilgin and Miraka Howard graced the red carpet at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival 2023 draped in handmade ensembles by Sanjukta Dutta. Ilgin wore a magnificent handmade Mulberry silk green gown, while Howard stunned one and all in a black Mekhela Chador.
Dutta had showcased her collection “CHIKI-MIKI” in the Paris Fashion Week 2023 at Le Salon des Miroris, Paris on March 4.
“Chiki-Miki” means sparkling and bright. The collection celebrates the vibrant colours and festive accents of the spring season of Assam.
Over time, Sanjukta Dutta’s designs have been worn by many Bollywood actors like Karishma Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Hema Malini, Zareen Khan, Preity Zinta at national and international events.
Sajukta Dutta also designed an outfit for British Royal Kate Middleton. Prince William’s wife wore that outfit during her visit to Kaziranga National Park in 2015.
On February 12, 2022, Sanjukta Dutta showcased her new collection “Alphool” at the New York Fashion Week 2022. The collection promised to enhance the feminism and elegance of a woman with its variety of signature Mekhela Chador, Structured Saree, Flowy-Gowns, Drape-Skirts, and Indo-Western Lehengas.
Sanjukta Dutta was conferred with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for ‘Best fashion designer’.
