COVID-19 cases in Assam is nearing the 200-mark with the total tally of positive cases surging to 191.
According to reports, two more positive cases has been detected at the Kokrajhar quarantine centre. The samples of the patient were sent to the Barpeta Medical College and Hospital for tests which was tested positive.
Taking to Twitter, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Two persons at Kokrajhar Quarantine Center tested & confirmed #COVID19 positive.”
Earlier this morning, one more person tested positive at the Kokrajhar quarantine centre. This takes the total count of COVID-19 cases to 191 with 136 active cases, 48 recovered.
On Wednesday 31 cases of COVID-19 were reported from the state. Of which, 14 cases were reported from Guwahati’s Sarusajai Quarantine Centre and one from Karimganj district, whereas 3 others have been detected at the Barpeta Medical College Hospital.
Prior to this, 13 cases were detected among which – 8 were reported in Hojai, 2 from Sonitpur, 1 each from Kamrup (Metropolitan), Kamrup (Rural) and Nagaon.
Meanwhile, the 14 patients detected at the Sarusajai quarantine centre were admitted yesterday night at the Mohendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital.
Himanta Biswa Sarma along with minister of state for health Pijush Hazarika oversaw the transfer of the 14 Covid-19 patients from the quarantine facility to the hospital.
