Congress MLA from Assam’s Mariani, Rupjyoti Kurmi on his 42nd birthday on July 24 pledged to donate his organs and Rs 1 lakh from his salary requesting the state government to purchase an air-ambulance for patients to get organs as quickly as possible in emergency situations.
Kurmi stressing on the need of air-ambulance services in Assam said that there is no such system in place by which patients can get organs quickly, therefore the service needs to be initiated.
The MLA also hoped that rest of the required money would be provided by the state or central government.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
