Assam Congress president Bhupen Bora has said that the AIUDF had betrayed the entire opposition camp when the Mahajot was formed in 2021 to fight the BJP.

Talking to Northeast Live, the Assam Congress president said that it was again a wrong decision and unfortunate to bank on the AIUDF for the Rajya Sabha elections. In fact, Bhupen Bora admitted that he too had made a mistake and feels that he had fallen prey to a trap laid by the AIUDF.

Bhupen Bora informed that it was the AIUDF which had advocated that the Congress must take a step as a big political party to challenge the BJP in the polls to the Upper House.

Meanwhile, Bhupen Bora also backed the party’s decision to suspend South Karimganj MLA Siddique AHmed. The APCC president said that Siddique Ahmed being a senior MLA of the party should not have made such a mistake.

Besides, Bora said that it was already known that party MLA from Raha, Sashikanta Das would vote for the BJP.
