BJP MLA Siladitya Deb has made a sensational allegation stating that the NRC updation process is witnessing some major scams from within.
Deb alleged that illegal Bangladeshi nationals have been employed as data operators at the NRC updation centres. Deb added that it is due to which, several illegal Bangladeshis have entered into the NRC list as bonafide citizens.
The Hojai MLA further claimed that it was a big mistake on the part of the state government to employ illegal Bangladeshis in the NRC updation process without verifying their credentials.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal lambasted the BJP MLA for his absurd comment.
Chief Minister Sonowal said that every person has their own view, but they should know when and how to speak and not create confusion in the minds of the people of Assam.
He added that the Supreme Court is monitoring the situation as of now and further assured that the draft will be published on July 30 as scheduled.
