Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal felicitated and presented cheques of Rs 20 lakh each to pugilist Jamuna Boro and Lovlina Borgohain for their outstanding performance at the Women’s World Boxing

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal felicitated and presented cheques of Rs 20 lakh each to pugilist Jamuna Boro and Lovlina Borgohain for their outstanding performance at the Women’s World Boxing Championship held in Ula-Ude, Russia.

The event was organised at Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium, Sarusajai Guwahati.

Jamuna who hails from Sonitpur settled for bronze after she was defeated in the semi-final match of the AIBA World Boxing Championship.

However, Golaghat’s Lovlina also settled for bronze after she was defeated by China’s Yang Liu in the championship.
