Assam CM launches State's Biggest Women Entrepreneurship Scheme That Will Empower 30 Lakh Women

Assam government has launched its most ambitious entrepreneurship support initiative, the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, aiming to empower 30 lakh women with financial assistance for self-employment. This transformative scheme is designed to foster micro-level entrepreneurship and ensure economic independence for women across the state.

Under the initiative, eligible women will receive Rs 10,000 seed capital in the first year. In the second year, they will be granted Rs 25,000, split as Rs 12,500 as a loan and Rs 12,500 as government support, provided the initial funds are used effectively. Upon successful utilization, women will receive Rs 50,000 in the third stage.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while unveiling the scheme, emphasized Assam’s holistic approach to uplifting women at every stage of life, from education and livelihood support to pensions and food security.

Taking to X, he wrote, “With the blessings of our mothers and sisters, today we launched the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, providing ₹10,000 seed capital to women to boost self-employment opportunities.”
