Good news for the people of Assam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated the Assam Bhawan at Vellore in Tamil Nadu, which will help many patients and their families who travel from Assam and the Northeast to Vellore for various purposes, mainly for better treatment of complicated diseases and need accommodation.
It will also help students from the state going to study in Vellore.
CM Sarma took to X and wrote, “Students, patients and their families from Assam now have a home in Vellore. Assam Bhawan is fully functional from todaym.”
Constructed in 4,340 square meters at an estimated cost of Rs 23 crore, the Bhavan has 6 floors including a service floor and 50 rooms.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Sarma said that the state government will construct 3 more Assam Bhawans in Delhi, in addition to a Namghar Convention Hall in Dwarka.
A new Assam Bhawan will also be built in Bangalore, apart from Pune and Ahmedabad.
