Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today hit out at the All Assam Students Union and the Asom Sahitya Sabha.

The CM’s sharp criticism came in the wake of their opposition to the government’s move to make the learning of maths and science subjects in English medium from Class III till Class X in all government schools of Assam.

Reacting to the opposition by the AASU and the Asom Sahitya Sabha, CM Sarma said that these organizations are trying to stay relevant in TV talk shows and gain TRPs for themselves.

Here, the Assam Chief Minister called upon these organizations not to play with the sentiments of common people for their personal motives.

CM Sarma also targeted AASU advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya and Asom Sahitya Sabha president Kula Saikia over the matter.

Targeting Kula Saikia, CM Sarma said that Saikia’s son has studied in English medium school all his life and now he does not want other children to study in English medium.
