Assam: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma lays base for new flyover in Guwahati

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, today marked his 55th birthday in style.

CM Sarma made the occasion more special as he laid the foundation of a key bridge aimed to decongest the Guwahati city.

The starting point of the 2.84 km bridge will be the junction point after Arya Nagar Flyover, the end point will be beyond Lal Ganesh Market.

The bridge will boost connectivity with major landmarks like- ITI Guwahati, NH-27 (Lokhra), Kahilipara, Barshapara Cricket Stadium, GMCH, B Barooah Cancer Institute and Arya Vidyapeeth College.
The cost of the project is Rs 376 crore.

Notable junctions integrated into the project include Cycle Factory Junction and Bishnupur Junction, Barsapara Cricket Stadium, and Lal Ganesh Market.

Besides, he also dedicated to the public a number of key civic projects- worth Rs 14.67 cr that includes 24 public toilets, 31 community buildings, 17 cremations, and 2 burial grounds.

Assam Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Ashok Singhal took to X and said, “Guwahati is on an elevated path to progress!
On his birthday, Hon’ble CM Dr. @himantabiswa dangoriya gifts another infrastructural marvel for the people of Guwahati, as he laid the foundation stone for a New 3-Lane Flyover at Cycle Factory Junction on Guwahati – Garbhanga Road.”
