Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jeet Adani Discuss Rollout of Rs 50000 Investment Projects in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Adani Group Director Jeet Adani and his team on Sunday to take forward the Rs. 50,000 crore investment commitment announced by the conglomerate during the Advantage Assam 2.0 business summit held in February.
Taking to X, CM Sarma shared details of the meeting and said, “During #AdvantageAssam2, the Adani Group made a ₹50,000 crore investment commitment. Today, along with my senior officers, we held an in-depth meeting with Mr Jeet Adani and his team to operationalise this commitment. We expect the MoUs related to significant investments in developing an aero-city, hotels, a cement plant and key infrastructure projects to take off soon. Ours is a government that works 24/7 for the people of the state, and I am grateful that the team joined us on a Sunday for this important meeting.”
The meeting aimed to put into motion the major agreements signed between the Assam government and the Adani Group during the summit. These include projects in tourism, infrastructure, energy, and urban development.
An official release stated that both parties also discussed the construction of a thermal power project and explored new avenues for collaboration in Assam’s infrastructure sector.
A key part of the discussion focused on the Jogighopa Multimodal Logistics Park in western Assam. CM Sarma highlighted the strategic importance of the park and showcased the integrated air, road, rail, and waterway connectivity developed by the state government to support upstream and downstream business activities.
He assured the Adani team of the state government’s full support in swiftly addressing requirements, including land allotment, to speed up the execution of the proposed projects. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the collaboration with the Adani Group would unlock new economic corridors and create robust opportunities in logistics, infrastructure, tourism, and energy sectors.
The meeting also laid down a roadmap by both sides to strengthen Assam’s position as a key investment destination in the Northeast. CM Sarma stated that the state government is committed to ensuring that this partnership brings long-term benefits to the people of Assam and the region at large.
