Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday handed over appointment letter to home guard Borsing Bey as constable in Assam Police. Bey has been awarded for showing example of integrity by refusing huge amount of bribe money and confiscating drugs worth Rs 12 crore.

CM Sarma appointed Bey as constable in the police at a function in Guwahati which was attended by DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta and ministers Keshab Mahanta, Jogen Mohan, Atul Bora, UG Brahma, deputy speaker Numal Momin and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang.

“He has set a remarkable example of integrity in confiscating drugs worth Rs 12 cr as Home Guard & refusing inducements.

Exemplary deed of Sri Bey will keep inspiring others to rise above personal interests & work for greater cause of society,” said the chief minister.

The state cabinet on Thursday decided to appoint home guard Bey as a constable in the Assam police for refusing a “huge bribe amount from drug dealers and helped recover drugs valued at Rs 12 crore” on June 21 at Dilai in Karbi Anglong.
