Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called on President Ramnath Kovind at the latter’s official residence in New Delhi on Friday.
During the meeting, CM Sarma discussed several issues regarding the development of Assam, and also invited the President to visit the Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site, in the state.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Sarma expressed his gratitude to have received the President’s blessings and guidance.
“Today I called on Mahamahim Rashtrapati Sri Ramnath Kovind ji at President House. I am extremely proud to have received Hon President’s blessings & guidance. I extended an invitation to him to kindly grace us with his visit to Assam and see Kaziranga,” CM Sarma tweeted.

Meanwhile, Sarma also met Union Minister for Textiles, Women and Child development Smriti Irani in New Delhi. The two leaders discussed various issues related to women and child development as well as handloom sector in the state.
“Adarniya @smritiirani ji is an icon of exemplary commitment to work. Such an honour to have met her today in New Delhi to pay my regards and solicit her guidance on various issues related to women and child development as well as handloom sectors,” Sarma said in another tweet.
