Assam: Cachar College student demands apology from authorities

The protesting students demanded that the authorities must also formally apologize to the students and the college authorities.

Students of the Cachar College on Tuesday staged a protest over the arrest of their principal. Hundreds of college students today closed the main gates of the college and staged a protest.

The principal Siddhartha Shankar Nath was arrested on Sunday for violation of the code of conduct during the government recruitment exams for Grade 4 employees at the college which was serving as the venue.

The protesting students demanded that the authorities must also formally apologize to the students and the college authorities.

Noteworthy here is that Nath was arrested on Sunday after an FIR was filed by Cachar DC.

However, he was soon released on certain conditions. However, students are up in protest demanding a formal apology from the authorities.
