Assam Cabinet takes slew of decisions

In a big decision, the Assam Cabinet today decided to allow Moh Juj, the traditional buffalo fight, and bulbul (bird) fight once again. It has also announced the implementation of the State Township Policy 2023. Under this, 30% of the land will be sued for roads while 60 per cent will be earmarked for infrastructure development and other 10 percent for economically weaker sections. It also decided to build over 1.3 lakh houses under CM Awas Yojna. Moreover, new norms to balance written test and interview scores in exams conducted by Assam Public Service Commission will be put in place.
