Assam Cabinet Reshuffle, Major Portfolio Changes Announced for Ministers

Four new ministers in Assam receive portfolios; existing ministries reshuffled with significant changes.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today distributed the portoflios to the four new ministers and made few changes in the departments held by some of the existing minsiters.
First-time minister, Dibrugarh MLA Prashanta Phukan has been entrusted with the Power Department, Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship, and the Medical Education and Research Department.
Patharkandi MLA Krishnendu Paul, also a first-time minister, has been given the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department alongwith the Fisheries Department.
Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai has been given the Mines and Minerals Department and the Barak Valley Development Department. Additionally, Rai will also head the Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Department. This department was earlier held by Ranjeet Dass.

Doomdooma MLA Rupesh Gowala has been named the minister for the Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare Department and the Labour Welfare Department.

Among the reshuffled portfolios, Ashok Singhal now heads the Health and Family Welfare Department, while Ranjeet Kumar Dass has been made the Minister of the Tourism Department earlier held by Jayanta Malla Baruah.

Ranjeet Kumar Dass will manage the Panchayat and Rural Development, Judicial, and Tourism departments. Atul Bora takes charge of the Agriculture, Excise, and Border Protection and Development departments.
Keshab Mahanta has been entrusted with the Revenue and Disaster Management, Information Technology, and Science, Technology, and Climate Change departments, focusing on disaster preparedness and digital advancements.
Ashok Singhal now heads the Health and Family Welfare department. Jogen Mohan will head the Transport and Co-operation departments.
Jayanta Malla Baruah will take charge of the Housing and Urban Affairs department, while Nandita Gorlosa will oversee the Welfare of Minorities and Development Department, as well as the Public Works, Building, and National Highways department.
