The Assam government is on a mission to renovate wooden bridges across the state, particularly in the rural areas. Well, the Assam Cabinet, in its latest meeting held yesterday, has taken a decisive step to reconstruct the existing wooden bridges into concreate ones. In this regard, the government will be sanctioning a fund of Rs 4 thousand, 3 hundred and 50 crore for the development project. This was informed by minister Pijush Hazarika.

Additionally, the Cabinet has decided that from now on, the approval for the construction of FCI Warehouses can be obtained from the DC itself. In other words, the DC may not need to send files to the secretariat for approval.

The cabinet also decided to provide AADHAR cards to those whose names have not appeared in the NRC.

It may be mentioned here that this category of people has been facing difficulties in reaping the benefits of important government schemes with no AADHAR cards.

The government has also decided to launch a new scheme for emergency funds. The new Scheme for Public Emergency is aimed at helping people who have suffered losses, both in terms of life and finances. These may include loss of lives and property in floods, fires, and other calamities. In this regard, the cabinet has decided to keep a sum of Rs 10 crore for the emergency scheme.

The cabinet has also decided to establish an office of the Bhutanese Consulate General in Dimoria. The government has sanctioned 5 bighas of land for this purpose. Additionally, 77 bighas of land have been sanctioned for the battalion camp of the CRPF.
